Chalet with hot tub and sauna Mont Blanc Winter Activity Week T he Mont Blanc region justifiably lays claim to some of the most spectacular mountain scenery anywhere in the world, and is a stunning setting for our week of activities. Both Italy and Switzerland border the Chamonix Valley, making this a truly international trip. We are based for the week at the Chalet Savoy, a few minutes walk from the Prarion ski lift which accesses Les Houches world cup downhill ski fields and cross- country ski trails. From our comfortable chalet we enjoy a range of fun activities including snowshoe walking, a snowmobile excursion, cross- country skiing in both classic and skating style, dogsledding, ice skating, riding the Mont Blanc Express train and also visiting a St Bernard dog kennels. There will be time to explore the town of Chamonix and there's a wide range of optional activities on your free day. Day 1Fly from Gatwick to Geneva and transfer to Les Houches ( 1hr 15 mins). Still relatively unaffected by international tourism, Zdiar has many traditional wooden buildings offering visitors a touch of authentic Slovakian folk cuisine, culture and tradition. More recently it has been making a name for itself as a great value winter destination, with a host of snowshoeing and cross- country skiing routes on offer. This will be our base for a fantastic week of fun in the snow that will also include dogsledding and a chance to go downhill skiing. We will also visit Zakopane, the capital of the Tatras to experience this unique high mountain atmosphere. Add to that a visit to nearby thermal pools and you have the perfect way to experience winter at its best. Day 1Fly from Gatwick to Krakow, transfer to Zdiar ( approx. 2 hours). Day 2A full day introduction to snowshoeing. Day 3Cross- country skiing instruction followed by a guided itinerary in the Spisska Magura Mountains.
